Thank you itr, nice post.
Rar corrupted again, rats !
Pippo, you aren't a newbie, use the repair function.
Sadly as I stated earlier I use a Mac platform that doesn't have any rar utility apt to repair corrupted rars like WinRar for Windows.
The funny part is that of all the blogs that I'm following Into the Rhythm is the only one in which I stumble into corrupted rars with a certain frequency. I wonder what gives.
besides that, it is a pity because your taste for choosing music is simply marvelous itr and I'm nevertheless grateful for the work your doing.
Ooops, sorry. I forgot this. But I don't know what to do. Do you have any idea?
rar (flac) corrupted, rar repair unable to fix this...thx anyway
Well, the only solution so far is to dump John Patton - Boogaloo, Nitin Sawhney, and Nando Carneiro in a USB stick and go to somebody with a windows machine to perform the magic of WinRar. I'm shure also that sooner or later an application for Mac would come up with the repair function for rar.
The funny thing is that nobody that I know uses windows, I'm a giggin' musician and as probably common thing I tend to stick only to other musicians, and by coincidence they all have Macs.
The other question is how come just you having this thing with corrupted Rars ? I'm quite sure that a lot other bloggers use windows for rar as well ... mistery ! :)
espero el link en mp3 320...gracias, itr

Pippo, I use Mac as well and have never had any problems with corrupted rars. I use a free utility called "unRarX". Never fails...
Goofy, you mean that actually you didn't have any problems with this "Nando Carneiro -Violao" ?
This is the list of the apps I'm using :
UnRarX
The UnArchiver
RarExpander
RarMachine
Simply Rar
Stuffit Expander
Untar
RarOSX
all updated to the last version.
they all say the same thing : the archive is corrupted.
even if I re-download the file.
So, you tell me.
I was forgettin' to mention that this is the only blog where I run in this kind of problem also.
I forgot to mention that the reason why you don't find any repair function in MacOSX rar apps is that they use the system embedded Rar functions so to act as merely interfaces of the (UNIX) system terminal line command just like Zip and another dozen compression format. So nobody yet found convenient to write from schratch a brand new app with everything in it.
Use Google or Wikipedia for further explanation.
Pippo, seriously, I haven't any difficulties with rars here or anywhere else. When reading the messages again I realized that maybe the reason is that I have downloaded the 320 rars and you the flac ones.
This conversation has really helped me. I'm a total ignoramus when it comes to downloading files.
But reading this exchange between Pippo and itr has really given me an entry point into figuring things out.
I'm assuming, by the way, that "320" files are .mp3 files? Jeez, I should probably just go google my answer, instead of bugging you guys.
Just wanted you to know that other people benefit from these sorts of exchanges. Thanks!
Hello Aviva,
320 = MP3 (320k/s), this is the best bitrate of these type of music files.
flac = lossless format
Best wishes
